My objective for researching Lyme Disease is to help inform the layman and the medical community about the extremely complex nature of the disease. Learn information about the nature of the spiral-shaped bacteria called Borrelia. Lyme disease has been called "the great imitator." Because of the plague of ignorance in the medical community regarding this complex disease, many patients have been misdiagnosed and mistreated. There are many more cases of Lyme disease that are not being reported all over the country including Iowa.
